RotaPlanner Update: March 2026
The updates for March 2026 include improvements to document exports, more detailed payroll reporting, and enhanced validation rules for shift assignments.
Reporting and Exports
- Page-Fit PDF Exports: A new custom PDF export option has been added to the rota view. This format ensures the schedule fits within the page dimensions for printing or digital distribution. How to create a rota
- Attendance Tracking in Reports: For organisations using the attendance feature, the Hours & Payroll report now includes a "Lates" count. This column tracks the number of times an employee was recorded as arriving late during the selected period.
- Leave Type Breakdown: The Hours & Payroll report now displays individual columns for every leave type defined in the system, such as annual leave or sickness. This provides a specific count for each category rather than a single aggregate leave total.
Leave Management
- Location-Specific Leave Blocks: When preventing users from booking leave during certain date ranges, administrators can now specify which locations these restrictions apply to. This allows for date blocks to be targeted at specific sites rather than the entire organisation.
Shift Assignment and Validation
- Conflict and Rest Period Alerts: The shift assignment interface now identifies and displays specific errors if an employee is ineligible for a shift. This includes alerts if an employee is already assigned to a shift at the same time. Scheduling software features
- Minimum Rest Requirements: The system now validates assignments against the "Minimum hours of rest between shifts" setting. If an assignment would result in an employee having less than the required rest period (as defined in General Settings), a validation error will be shown.
- Improved Error Visibility: The display of errors for assignment candidates has been updated to make scheduling conflicts more visible to the user during the planning process.
